Junk Education Threatens Future of The World Economy

Millions With Degrees Facing Unemployment and Underemployment

There appears to be something seriously wrong with most of today’s education, especially when you come across the facts about higher education graduates. Just take a look at some of the statistics coming out of the United Kingdom and the United Sates:

A third of working graduates in the United Kingdom took jobs as cleaners, office juniors and road sweepers six months after leaving university. 53% of recent college graduates in the US are either jobless or underemployed.

The picture around the globe is clear, millions are facing unemployment and also underemployment, and this despite holding degrees. Whilst employers are complaining of the lack of skills (strategy, creativity, goal setting, decision making processes, and management) of new graduates, hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) are questioning the value of the education they received.

Is Higher Education Feeding Students Junk?

“It is all down to an overwhelming amount of junk education” says the spokesperson of Schellhammer Business School, adding that “we need to accept that education must begin to focus more on human values and sustainability rather than memorization of ideologically founded theories and facts or the corporate-styled mantra of profit above all”.

The Swiss business school, based in what is known as the ‘millionaire’s playground’ – Marbella, is turning higher education on its head, with what it refers to as a vanguard approach to business that aims to foment sustainability, ethics, integrity and entrepreneurial zeal.

At Schellhammer Business School, students get the opportunity for personal growth. They can choose their custom specialization and most importantly are given the tools to understand the true nature of the failings of the global economy in order to establish a new paradigm for their future and the world.

The Founder and President, Dr. Edward Schellhammer reveals that the raison d’être of the school, is to educate a new breed of leaders, in order to help create hope, peace and justice in the new Millennium. With a strong focus on personality development, the dynamics of the family business, entrepreneurship and personal branding, SBS offers a unique set of optional modules both at undergraduate and graduate level.

If you look at some popular Google searches, you realize it is time for education to either offer value again or face more of this:

is higher education worth it
is higher education really worth it
is higher education a waste of money
is higher education a waste of time
is higher education worth the cost
is higher education worth the money

A report by the Council on Foreign Relations in the United States even goes as far as declaring failure in education as a threat to its national security.

“Human capital will determine power in the current century, and the failure to produce that capital will undermine America’s security,” the report states. “Large, undereducated swaths of the population damage the ability of the United States to physically defend itself, protect its secure information, conduct diplomacy, and grow its economy.”

Yet, time and time again rankings claim the US to be at the forefront of higher education with its ivy league colleges and universities.

The statistics speak for themselves. Unqualified students, major dropout rates and more laws and regulations choking education that ultimately is not getting any better. Similar results can be found all over the globe.
