Russian Submarine Fires Cruise Missile in Arctic Drills

In new footage released this week, Russia’s 120-metre Severodvinsk submarine is seen going underwater slowly before its Kalibr missile roars into the sky.

According to the Mirror, the submarine missile test was, part of a larger military drill that included 20 warships and vessels from the Caspian flotilla.

The Russian military revealed that the cruise missile reached its target “with high accuracy”.

The Kalibr cruise missile, can carry both nuclear or conventional payloads and travels at a speed of up to Mach 2.9 with a range of 2,400 kilometers.
